Guys and gals,
The Yakima River is high and muddy but all is not lost. It will probably be out of shape for at least another week. This is the time to work on our fly casting game in preparation for better conditions and that big trip you might have planned. Maybe it is for a future trip on the Yakima River, Montana, steelhead fishing, or maybe a flats trip to Ascension Bay. No matter were you are going, what is the number one way to catch more fish on a fly rod? Learn to cast better! We decided to put together a short notice Advanced Fly Casting Class this Saturday, April 28th at our fly shop hosted by guide service manager and single handed casting expert Joe Rotter. This is not a class we offer very often so please take advantage! We will have all sorts of rods to try and it will be a ton of fun. We will work hard but we keep it light with plenty of jokes and the most important part is just having fun.
The cost is only $59 per person and will include 3 hours of very personal casting lessons and advice for taking your game to the next level. We’ll meet at 11 am and break at about 3:30 with lunchtime discussion about fishing in the middle. Bring a cold drink to enjoy after the class as well. Working together we’ll learn to make long straight casts, work on precise accuracy, learn to double haul, reach cast, and other advanced techniques. You will be introduced with real world casts and taught how, when, and where you will execute these moves with a few laughs along the way.
Joe has been guiding trout and steelhead in Washington State for more than 10 years and would love to help you improve your fly cast and in turn… catch more fish. That is why we are doing this! He takes a very real and direct approach to fly casting and fishing instruction by speaking from genuine experience and removing many of the misconceptions about mastering the fly rod.
Whether you consider yourself a highly experienced angler, intermediate, or just one notch above a beginner you have a lot to gain from Saturday’s class. We will teach directly to your skill level so don’t be intimidated.
