It’s every sportsman’s dream – to load up the dog kennels and drift boat,
fly rods and shot guns, and enjoy a day filled with flushing birds and
catching wild trout! The unique riverside location of our fly shop and
lodge in the Yakima River Canyon make Red's the ideal place for a Cast 'n
Blast adventure.
Upland Bird Hunting and Fishing... the Perfect Day
The hunting half of your day is a pheasant hunt on our preserve which is
located just minutes from our lodge. For each gun the guide will
release 6 rooster pheasants.
After an action packed morning hunt and a healthy lunch, we’ll grab the fly rods and jump in a drift boat for an afternoon guided drift in the famous Yakima Canyon, which boasts the highest fish counts on the entire river.
Our typical boat launch is within minutes of the hunting area ensuring virtually no down time during your day.
We only offer a guided option for this trip. You are welcome to run your own dog(s). This package is available from August 1 through March.
A Washington Freshwater Fishing License is required for this trip.
How long is our day?
A full day of Cast 'n Blast is 8+ hours of fishing and
hunting. It
includes lunch as well. We fish and hunt very hard and you will be
tired!
Beginner Friendly
Upland Bird Hunting
At Red's, sharing our passion for bird hunting with beginners and youth is a
large part of why we do this job. The heritage of hunting is one that
should be passed down not only to the next generation, but anyone that wants
to learn or participate. We welcome hunters of ANY experience level to
join us for a day of learning and hunting in a positive, safe, and fun
environment.

What do I need to bring
hunting?
All hunters must furnish their own shotguns and shells. We like to use
#6 shot, but please bring the ammunition that you feel most comfortable
with. An orange hunting vest, long pants, and boots are all that is
required. You do not have to have a hunting license for the Cast 'n
Blast trips since we are not hunting wild birds.
What do I need to bring
fishing?
You don't need to have any fly fishing equipment and there is no extra
charge if you need a rod and reel.
Just bring yourself, a smile, and a few basic items from a packing list that
we email you.
Yakima River Wild Trout Fishing
The Yakima River is a year round catch-and-release fishery for wild Rainbow and Cutthroat trout.
We guide what is considered the "Blue Ribbon" section. It is 75 miles of
river and has the distinction of being Washington's only official Blue Ribbon trout stream.
Trout on the Yakima average 10-16 inches and anything in the 18-20 inch
range is considered a trophy. Occasionally
anglers will see fish over 20 inches which is
a trophy trout on any river!
A large experienced staff combined with a world famous riverside location
makes us the perfect choice for your next group getaway or corporate event
that involves upland bird hunting. Our lodge and staff provide a broad
array of activities to satisfy diverse groups. Fly fishing, river
rafting, wine tasting, hiking, and cooking classes are just some of the
activities available with us.
