Our Chilean and Argentinian destinations have been carefully researched and chosen to optimize your trout fishing vacation in the Southern Hemisphere. The lodges are strategically located within just a few miles of a wide variety of fishing access points in the Patagonia region. There is not a better place to set up headquarters and experience all of the best fishing this famous region has to offer. The backdrop is spectacular, and the various lodges pair high quality accommodations with delicious table fare. It’s difficult to imagine anything better than a great day floating a beautiful river , followed by a gourmet dinner with good friends, and topped off by an evening soak in the hot tub enjoying a glass of local wine under the southern sky. .
While the main quarry is Brown and Rainbow trout, there are also some lakes that hold Brook trout, and also several rivers that get runs of large Chinook Salmon if you're there at the right time. While we do fish a lot of big dry flies in both the streams and the rivers, many of the larger Browns (like 24"+) are caught using large streamers with some mad action.

The diverse fishing program includes float fishing rivers, wading small streams, sight fishing big dries to 18”-22” Browns in lakes, and even stalking trout in spring creeks. To say these guides are “fishy” is an understatement. They are a seasoned crew of Montana Trout Bums who are not only going to do whatever it takes to get you to the right place at the right time; but also work their butts off to get you into the Brown trout that you’ve seen over and over in your dreams. Browns dominate the local waters but there are large bows to be had. Rio Simpson offers a bonus of big King Salmon if you’re there between January and March. No matter which type of fishing you desire, the backdrop of the Andes are always present, looming in the distance. This trip is unparalleled in allowing you to experience ALL that South America has to offer!

The fishing season in South America runs from late December through March. There are certain periods during that timeframe when there are less bugs, nicer weather, better lake fishing, better Salmon fishing, etc... Naturally, we'll advise you on the location and time frame that would best meet your needs!
