High Mountain
Fly Fishing

Cascade Mountain High

We have combined our fly fishing expertise with another outfitter specializing in backcountry horse trips to bring you the most unique and exciting lineup of guided trips in the Cascade Mountains.  It is a true Wilderness Getaway! The outfitter is licensed and bonded through the U.S. Forest Service and specializes in providing novice and even first time horseback riders with a great trail riding experience.

Although the fishing may be the biggest attraction, you will find that the mountainous scenery, horseback ride, or campfire surrounded by family to be the most enjoyable part of this trip.  It is perfect for a mixed group with some anglers that may want to fish hard all day combined with others that might just enjoy being outside and breathing the mountain air!

There are countless lakes and several small mountain streams that boast good fishing for native Cutthroat, Rainbows, and even a few Brookies.  While some of the destinations offer hike in access, the more remote places are best accessed by horse and when combined with a deluxe overnight camp that only a pack-team can offer, this is one great trip!

The Fish

Don't come expecting big trout on this trip, these mountain trout live in an environment that sees harsh winters and only offers a short growing season.  Do come on this trip to enjoy mountainous serenity and step back in time a few hundred years.

There are trout up to 16" in both the lakes and streams, but your average trout will likely be around 7" in the creeks and about 10-12" in the lakes.  Great fun with a light fly rod and beautiful surroundings!

A Washington Freshwater Fishing License with Catch Record Card is required for this trip.

Testimonials

"This is one of our best offerings at Red's and we are so proud to be offering a getaway that combines a TRUE wilderness experience with fly fishing.  I am fortunate enough to have fished a lot of places but this is one adventure that I look forward to every summer.  It's not about the size of the fish, it's about where they live!"
