The
Basics
This is the ultimate fly fishing getaway. Designed for adults that would
like a relaxing vacation combined with an opportunity to learn something new
and enjoy guided fly fishing all at the same time. It is hosted at the
2 most exclusive fly fishing lodges in the Northwest, Canyon River Ranch and
Pine Valley Lodge. Both are located ON the banks of the famous Yakima
River. It is a perfect getaway to reserve as an entire group of 8, or
you may come as a group of 2 and share the adventure with other parties.
The Passion
We see it happen often. The women's book club who took this class one
weekend and had so much fun they booked ahead for the next year, it is an
addictive sport! And the husbands who gave their non-fishing wives a
weekend as a gift and in turn won a fishing companion for life. The
dads and grandfathers who wanted their kids and grandkids to learn fly
fishing while ensuring a positive learning experience. Some of our
favorite stories are of people who take a class, meet new friends and become
fishing pals for years eventually heading off to explore new waters.
Lessons and Lodges
Pine Valley Lodge and Canyon River Ranch lodge are located on the banks of
the Blue Ribbon Yakima River. Each of these remarkable lodges offer
high end accommodations in a private setting. In this relaxing
environment. you will learn the essentials. We will unravel the
mysteries of rods, reels, lines, leaders, and knots. You will discover
the art of casting and in the evening will enjoy a fine home cooked dinner
prepared by the kitchen staff. Visit with other guests and relax in
the lodges great room. Walk the river path and enjoy the camaraderie
and hospitality that comes from getting away to a secluded haven in a
beautiful part of the world.

Hands on Experience
Each day, after a quiet and comfortable night's sleep and a country
breakfast, you will review the basics and head for the river. The
Yakima River Canyon flows through spectacular basalt cliffs that rise
steeply on both sides of the river. Often you will see Bighorn Sheep
grazing on the hills above. Your guide will take you down the river
into the Canyon for a real taste of western fly fishing. You will
float for miles and time will hardly exist.
