A Day on the
Klickitat - This is what it is like fishing for a day on the

Why do Swing Fisherman have more

Klickitat River
Steelhead Lodge
Riverside lodging
on the Klickitat River for these trips
feature a very nice inn that is ON the river with great fishing at the inn!
We feel that it is the nicest and most convenient steelhead lodge in the
Northwest, if not the lower 48 states. We float in/float out of the property and it is a
spectacular trip.
Guest rooms are located in a 4 unit Inn adjacent to the "Red's Klickitat
Cabin" next door which is our dining and social hangout. The rooms
feature luxury linens, flat screen TV's in each unit, a fire pit, coffee
makers, private bathrooms, private entry, downstairs units have patio exit
to the river, and all have riverfront views. There is ample wade
fishing at the Inn or there are MILES of spectacular fishing access both
upstream and downstream!
Klickitat River Itinerary Details
You will arrive at the Inn the night before your first day of guided
fishing. Have dinner on your way down and arrive any time you like.
Some anglers arrive early and like to do some wade fishing that first day.
Prior to your trip you will receive detailed driving directions and check-in
information.
Day 1: Anglers can wake up and come on over the main cabin
where fresh coffee is waiting for them already. Our breakfast cook
will have a community breakfast ready at a prescheduled time and then it is
off to the river! Our trips include 9+ hours of
solid fishing and the guide will serve lunch on the river. Sometimes,
we will float to and from the Inn. After arriving back at the Inn, the
waders come off and appetizers are served followed by a GREAT dinner and
desert... big fun!
Day 2: Repeat of Day one, catch
some fish, eat some lunch, and depending on your itinerary... repeat dinner
along with another day of fishing or head home after fishing day two.
Day 3: Now you are dialed in! Everyone always seems to
fish their best on Day 3 and clean house. Same routine this day,
breakfast, fishing, and then depart in the afternoon once you are tired!
Day 4: Why not? You drove or flew all this way to get
here! Let's fish long, hard, and catch some steelhead.
Payment: Full
payment of the trip is due 30 days prior to the start date.
Cancellation Policy - Deposits
are refundable minus transactions fees up to 30 days out. Inside
30 days out the deposit is retained. Inside 48 hours the balance

Information on Fly Fishing the Klickitat River
The Klickitat is an extremely wild and scenic river, pouring directly from the glaciers of Mt. Adams in South Central Washington. It boasts great returns of large wild steelhead and some hatchery fish as well. Sometimes your only companions are eagles, turkeys, black bears, and deer.... what company!
The river is about 4 hours from Seattle and about 2.5 hours from Portland. The nearest towns are Goldendale and Klickitat and the season runs from June 1 - November 30th. The glacial nature of the Klickitat makes summer time water clarity somewhat unpredictable so we tend to focus our guiding efforts towards the months of October and November, but July - September during periods of cool weather the Klick will produce great warm weather steelhead fishing. We drift 5 - 12 miles in a day depending on strategy. Nymphing on-the-go generally produces the most hook-ups but we do swing flies with a spey rod as well.
A Washington Freshwater Fishing License with Catch Record Card is required for this trip.
