“We are very proud to offer such a diverse selection of fly fishing schools.  This is something we have worked very hard to create and feel that any angler can benefit from our instruction and enthusiasm.  Whether it is an hourly riverside casting lesson, Spey Casting, or our Montana Intro trip, you are sure to find something at the RFS Fly Fishing Schools.”

2009 Schedule

PRINTABLE 2009 MT FLYER

August 1st-6th

Cost: $2995 per person

This is a one-of-a-kind introduction to fly fishing and hands-on guided fishing adventure located on the world famous Missouri River in central Montana. The 2009 program is perfectly scheduled to coincide with the peak of the summer angling season for trophy rainbow and brown trout – both of which thrive in the Missouri River.

Your home for this adventure is the beautiful Scenic Valley Lodge. Upon arrival in Helena,  you will be met by your hosts, Nanci Lambert and Doug Pendleton, who will transport you about 45 minutes to your home for  the next 5 action packed days. Accommodating just ten guests, the Scenic Valley Lodge is a well appointed Montana-style lodge close to the Missouri River downstream from Craig MT, the trout capitol of Montana (“population 100people; 11,000,000 trout!”). Dedicated to fly fishing, the lodge offers plenty of room for the instructional clinics that Doug and Nanci teach as part of this unique program.

The program gets into full swing on day two when Doug is joined by Montana outfitter, fly fishing author & international river guide, Mike Agee. What about skill level? Not to worry! Whether this is the first time you’ve held a fly rod in your hand or you’re an experienced angler, we’ll take you on an individual basis from where you are and help you reach the next level. Following a morning of instruction, we’ll hit the river with Mike and his staff and take your new-found knowledge and skills to the water.  Over the next four days, you’ll spend 2 days fishing the Missouri from the boat of an experienced MT guide; fish the Land of Giants for some of the largest wild river trout currently living in the US under the tutelage of Mike Agee himself in a jet boat; and spend one day wading a remote MT stream that the guides may blindfold you along the way in order to keep this secret place safe. After each day’s adventure we’ll relax at the lodge, enjoy great fishing stories over a glass of juice, a cold beer or a glass of  wine (all included), and delicious 4-course gourmet meals prepared by host Nanci Lambert.  After dinner, a fly tying workshop is offered for anyone interested in matching the hatch
with your own creation.

Trip Includes
