Naches River Guided Fly Fishing Trips
OVERNIGHT
FISHING PACKAGES
The Naches River is a very wild
freestone river that sees little angling pressure and boasts productive fly
fishing for moderate sized wild trout. Less anglers and a chance to catch
native Westslope Cutthroat makes for a memorable adventure. It tumbles down
the east side of Chinook Pass and is created at the confluence of the
Bumping, American and Little Naches Rivers. It joins the Yakima River
in the city of Yakima and compliments its mother stream nicely as a fertile
tributary.
Float Fishing or Wade Fishing on the Naches River
We offer both float and wade fishing trips on the Naches depending on
the water level and goals for the day.
The Naches runs very fast in the early summer, so the float
trip itself is very fast paced and exciting. Sometimes it is so
fast that we are not able to fish 'on-the-go' out of the raft and most of
our actual fishing is done on foot in the most productive runs. At
times, it can be a true combination of white water rafting and fly fishing!
Sometimes it is so quick that we might have to remind you to look up at the
cliffs, elk, and deer instead of at your fly or the giant boulders that we
are squeezing the raft between! Portions of the Naches are lined by towering
evergreens on both sides and its emerald colored pools seem bottomless and
mysterious.
Washington State Fly Fishing Getaway
The main appeal is an aesthetic get away that few anglers attempt.
Much of the rowing is very technical and fast which keeps other float
traffic
almost non-existent. The
catch is composed of native cutthroat and wild rainbows, most of which
are in the 10-14" range. There are some much larger fish in the
system, but please don't come expecting lots of big fish. Do this
trip if you want to fish a beautiful river with few anglers with nice
wild trout. There are some Bull Trout in the river too that we
hook incidentally on occasion and this always seems to raise a few
Goosebumps while we are fishing the big pools.
Naches trout are fat, healthy,
and very very strong. They resonate perfection in every way.
Although the Naches does not host the gross
numbers of trout as the Yakima, the angler to fish ratio is wonderful
and we feel like the overall experience is second to none!
A Washington Freshwater Fishing License with Catch Record Card is required for this trip.

Testimonials
"That was a great trip guys, much better than I could have
ever imagined from such a small river. I still love the
Yakima, but the Naches is now my favorite! I felt like I was
on the Blackfoot River in Montana. Never have I seen such
beautiful fish and being able to do some wade fishing during the
summer heat is a great way to cool off when I might have normally
been sweltering in the drift boat. Thanks for working so hard
and I look forward to our next trip and testing my new 4 weight on
those chubby Cutthroat!"
