Smallmouth Course

Many times we have heard people say… "I'd like to try that sometime."

The RFS One Day Smallmouth Clinic is designed to educate you on the ways of the Yakima River Smallmouth Bass and show you why it is considered the BEST fighting freshwater gamefish!

Itinerary:  The class will meet at 7 am at Red's Fly Shop and it is designed to help boat owners and friends learn to fish the Lower Yakima River for Smallmouth Bass. If you cannot pair up with a group that has their own boat just give us a call and sometimes we can arrange some groups that have empty space or include you in our shop's guide group. The course however is designed for anglers in their own drift boats.

After gearing up, we will drive to the Lower Yakima which is about 1 hour 45 minutes from Red's Fly Shop.  After that, we'll launch boats coordinate a shuttle and after some instruction on presentation techniques, reading water, and fly selection we will go fishing!  The float is usually about 7 miles and makes a day full.

After takeout, many anglers choose to stay the night in Prosser at the Best Western, it is right off of the interstate and easy to find.
