Pheasant Hunting Near Seattle
The Mount Baldy Ranch
Pheasant Hunting Preserve is located in the heart of the Yakima River canyon,
within a few minutes of Red's Fly Shop 2 hours east of Seattle. When you sign up for an upland hunt
with Red’s Fly Shop, you are assured of a high quality experience. The
spacious preserve is nestled in prime terrain ranging from creek
bottoms to basalt rimmed plateaus, which gives us plenty of room to
accommodate multiple parties and large groups.
The birds we release are mature birds that fly well. We take a lot of pride in
providing a great experience to our guests.
When is
the season?
Since our pheasant hunting is on a preserve where we supplement the
population, we get a very long season. It runs from August - March so
even when wild bird hunting is closed you can always come out and hunt
pheasants at Red's.
How long is our day?
A preserve hunt with Red's is very efficient and
makes great use of your time. A typical hunt is a maximum of about 4
hours from start to finish with lots of action.
Beginner Friendly
Upland Bird Hunting
At Red's, sharing our passion for bird hunting with beginners and youth is a
large part of why we do this job. The heritage of hunting is one that
should be passed down not only to the next generation, but anyone that wants
to learn or participate. We welcome hunters of ANY experience level to
join us for a day of learning and hunting in a positive, safe, and fun
environment.

- Guided hunt, $299 per person
- Non-guided hunt, $249 per person
- 2 hunter minimum
- 6 Rooster pheasants are released per gun
- Guided trips include a well trained pointing dog and bird cleaning.
- No hunting license is required for this trip

Can I bring my own dog?
We offer 2 options for pheasant hunters. A guided hunt includes a
professional guide, a well trained pointing dog, and bird cleaning.
Hunters may also opt for a non-guided hunt and use their own dogs. You may
also choose to do a guided hunt and use your own dog.
What do I need to bring
hunting?
All hunters must furnish their own shotguns and shells. We like to use
#6 shot, but please bring the ammunition that you feel most comfortable
with. An orange hunting vest, long pants, and boots are all that is
required. You do not have to have a hunting license for the pheasant
hunts since we are not hunting wild birds.
