Rendezvous Activities and Events
The Rendezvous is a chance for anglers to
come together and celebrate fly fishing, share ideas, and learn new
skills for the upcoming season. For us, it is a chance to share
some of our knowledge and skills with the general public so shake the
winter dust off your fly gear and come have some fun in the sun at our
Spring Rendezvous on March 26th!
It
is held on our riverfront property in the Yakima River Canyon. The
fishing is usually very good that weekend, so fish on Friday or Sunday,
but join us at Rendezvous all day Saturday!

These clinics are absolutely free! Plan
to attend the one that fits your skill level. They are very
educational and there is usually plenty of time for some 1:1 tutoring
afterwards.

Beginning Fly Casting
- by Dick Sagara of TFO
Fly Rods. Learn from the ground up, or find out what it is that
you have been doing wrong all these years. This is a great seminar
for any skill, but it is essential for beginners.

advance your casting and get "Raw Distance and Power" out of your fly
cast. Brian is unanimously regarded as one of the world's greatest
fly casters.

Outdoor
Photography - by
Brian Okeefe of
Catch Magazine. He is one of the best fly fishing
photographers in the world, and he is willing to share some of his
techniques and tips to make your photos better, even if it means using
the same camera you already have. It involves photographing fish
as well as other outdoor subjects.
Yakima River Trout - by Joe Rotter of Red's Shop. Learn from a
long time pro guide on the Yakima River about how to fish the river
effectively 12 months out of the year. He will help you identify
the hatches that matter, and give you insight on approaching each one
effectively.
Eastern Washington Steelhead Fishing - by Joe Rotter of Red's Fly
Shop. Learn how to effectively fish the Wenatchee, Methow, and
Klickitat Rivers for Steelhead. This program is beginner friendly
and will provide some effective insight on getting started.
How to Row a Drift Boat

ANYBODY can do this! It is 100% free, and you can learn to row a
boat safely in the Yakima River Canyon in a short amount of time.
It is a great course to take whether or not you own a drift boat.
Fly Tying

Our staff along with
some other expert fly tiers will be giving demonstrations and lessons in
the lodge all day long. There will even be a Kid's Fly Tying
lesson! All FREE!
Fly Casting Competition

There will be generous
prizes awarded to the "non professional" division winner! Last year this
was a huge success and there will be some novelty casting that is a lot
of fun and non competitive. It is really fun to watch, especially
with a cold drink in one hand!
The 509 State of Mind...
If you don't plan to
participate in any of the classes, clinics, etc. - no worries.
There will be wine, beer, appetizers, and you can just kick back at our
lodge and enjoy being in a "509" State of Mind in the Yakima River
Canyon!
