Rockne, aka
Rock, was named after Knute Rockne and was born locally and raised
nearby in Yakima. His introduction to fly fishing took place while
attending Rick’s College in Southern Idaho. He was instantly hooked
after fishing the South Fork and the Henry’s Fork Rivers. His next
move was to Utah State. He spent every spare moment fishing the
Logan, Provo, and Green rivers. He returned to Yakima a couple of
years later and instantly fell in love with his home water, the
Yakima River. He earned his degree in Business Administration from
Central Washington University in Ellensburg, despite the
distractions of the river.
Roc has landed a lot of nice fish, but the best catch of his life is
his beautiful wife Tera whom has given him his son Blake and his
daughter Aubrey. In addition to guiding, Roc owns his own business
as a Home Inspector, which allows him a flexible schedule for
guiding and fishing the local waters in pursuit of both trout and
steelhead. When he is not fishing you could find him riding his ATV,
playing a round of golf, or holding his kids!
