Johnny was born and raised in Ellensburg and this is where his
love of the outdoors first began. As a young boy he canvassed the
Kittitas Valley and in 1989 he and his family moved to Arlington,
Washington, home of the famous Stilliguamish, Suak and Skagit
Rivers. He spent these years chasing Sea-run Cutthroat, Dollies and
Steelhead. He eventually moved back to Ellensburg to play football
and further his education at Central Washington University. This
also brought him back to the Yakima River where he spent countless
days learning its secrets before, after, and during class.
Johnny has been a full time professional guide for the last eight
years. He would love nothing more than to host you for a day of fun
on the water fly fishing for trout and steelhead.
Coming
from a family of teachers and coaches he has learned the skills and
patience of being a great instructor.. His dad is a retired
hall-of-fame high school football at Arlington High school, while
his mom is a reading teacher at Eagle Creek Elementary.
