If there was a vote for the most likeable guide on staff, everyone would
vote for Leif. Except himself, of course. He is friend to everyone and
never complains about any workload that is thrown at him, weather, wind, or
other adverse conditions. He simply smiles and gets through it with a great
attitude and puts fish in the boat.
Leif started his great pursuit of fly fishing as a young boy growing up on
the Kitsap Peninsula. He fell in love with Ellensburg during his college
years at Central Washington University, spending every spare moment on the
Yakima River. He began to work for Red’s during this time and learned
guiding from the best, making life-long friends with everyone on staff.
After college Leif experienced another aspect of the fly fishing industry
while working for Sage Fly Rods as an Assistant Product Manager. Choosing to
spend more time outside, Leif and his girlfriend Brooke once again reside in
Ellensburg with their two dogs Kenai and Ole.
When Leif isn’t rowing a boat or working as a real estate agent, he loves to
hunt big game as well as upland birds, heading into the woods every chance
he gets. His long-time girlfriend, Brooke, is a devoted companion, keeping
up with his forays into the wilderness with unflinching dedication and
little complaint. Snowboarding consumes most of Leif’s winter in search of
the deepest snow Washington has to offer, he isn't sure if he has found it
yet so he keeps on looking, and looking, and looking...
