Fishing alongside a friendly pro is the fastest and most effective way to learn a new skill. We focus on a variety of tactics; dry fly fishing, nymph fishing, and streamer fishing. Plan to join us a few times each year and learn new strategies for the varying seasons, conditions, hatches, and new tips from a different instructor guide.

Technique Focused Fishalongs

Anglers should always strive for continued education.  Our pros host and guide fishalong style outtings with specific themes that focus on a specific discipline.

Dry Fly Fishalong Outings

The destinations will vary on occassion, but when the conditions are right our staff will help you become a better dry fly caster and angler right here on the Yakima River.  We say this time and again, "if you want to have good dry fly fishing... become a good dry fly fisherman".  Dedicate some time to learning how to properly present a dry fly and understand the hatches that spur this activity.  The adventure and lessons vary based on seasons, hatches, and even the knowledge of unique instructors.

Nymph Fishalong Outings

90% of what trout eat is underwater.  Learning to properly present a nymph is critical to becoming a well rounded angler.  Our Fishalong outings teach beginner to intermediate level anglers the nuts and bolts of using strike indicators and "hopper dropper" setups to present nymphs in moving water.  As conditions vary, so do the strategies. Take this course at various times through the year for a unique experience.

Streamer Fishalong Outings

Large trout often prefer large flies.  On our streamer fishalong outings the team of friendly pros at Red's will teach you several techniques for fishing streamers.  Seasons and conditions vary so each experience will be unique to the body of water and time of year.  Many of the things learned in the streamer course will translate to saltwater and bass fishing as well. It's a great outing to help build a more diverse skill set.
