Powerhour Fishing Report // Yakima River

April 4, 2019

Joe Rotter had a spot open in the back of the boat and I jumped right in for a nice afternoon float in attempt to rise some fish on the dry fly.

Location: Mile Marker 19 to Red's

Anglers: Scott, Joe and Myself

Time:  1:30pm to 4:00pm

Catch Resuls:  Scott and I caught about 10 fish throughout the float, all on dry flies

Flies: Skwalameister Dry Fly

Estimated Hunger Level:  8 out of 10, the fish were pretty agressive on the dry flies and the bite was on from about 2:00pm-4:00pm

Featured Tackle: I exclusively fished the 4 weight Loomis IMX Pro attached to the Lamson Force SL. The Lamson Force combined with IMX Pro made for some amazing casting result, like the Rod and Reel were made for eachother!

Not very often do I get to get out of the office and into a drift boat but the boss let me out of solitary confinement for the afternoon and man was I glad he did. The company was great and the fishing was even better, with a nice rainbow gulping the skwalamister 5 minutes into the float. Dry fly fishing for early April was fantastic and well worth the float! The highlight of the trip was when Scott and I had a nice double on the dry fly just upriver from Umptanum boat launch.
