Red's Rendezvous Updates! - Sage MOD Outfit for the Winner!

Guys and gals, this is going to be awesome. Get to Red's this Saturday, you won't regret it. We were going to charge $5, but we want you here.  FREE for everyone!  You'll even get a raffle ticket for some door prizes just for showing up!  We'll be giving away lots of stuff and this is a super fun event.  

Here are some updates!


Sage has generously sponsored the 5 Weight Fly Casting Competition.  The winner of the NON-PROFFESSIONAL Division will get a complete Sage MOD 590-4 and a Sage CLICK Reel with RIO Gold Fly Line.  Anyone can enter, there will be a qualifying round throughout the day and finals about 3 pm for the top casters.  It will be a series of about 20 casts for accuracy at various distances with a few obstacles thrown in there as well.

  • 3 PM - Finals for NON-PRO Qualifiers - Winner takes a Sage MOD Fly Rod and Sage Click Reel Outfit!

  • 4 PM - Finals for the PRO Division.  Winner gets their name on the blog and is allowed to talk smack till next Rendezvous.  That is way better than a rod.

$10 River Raft Rides!


This will be a short float of about 40 minutes or so. You'll get picked up at Red's and you'll get to float from upstream right back down to the Rendezvous!  No need to RSVP, just pay upon arrival and we'll have a great time.  This is the perfect family fun float!

USED Rod and REEL SALE

We have quite a few demo rods and older models that we are putting on sale.  There will be a table in the lodge.  There will be Sage, Winston, ECHO, TFO, Loomis, and a few other brands.  There will be some GREAT deals!


Watermaster BOAT DERBY!!!

This will be a "bump to pass" race that anyone can sign up for! Its free and we'll provide the boats.  There will be several heats and you can sign up in the morning and get assigned a race time.  The finish line will be about 100 yards above the boat launch, and the race starts at the upper end of the Red's facility here.  Big fun, no cost to enter, and bragging rights for a year.  Give it a try, open to the public!

These seminars are small, personal, and you'll learn from the experts and will have plenty of time to ask questions and get REAL answers!  These seminars are hosted in the lodge library.

Outdoor Fly Casting Seminars 


10 am - 2 pm - Introduction to Spey Casting - We'll have a couple of pros on the water here. This will be an ongoing lecture that you can stop in and learn, listen, and cast!  Bring your waders and we'll have the rods and reels.  It will be a great way to sample the sport and learn the basics.  

12 pm - 2 pm -  Spey Casting Tune-up - This is a chance for intermediate level casters to get some good help on making their cast stronger, more efficient, and you can try some different rods and lines.  

10 am - 3 pm - Beginner's Fly Casting Lessons - The Federation of Fly Fishers generously has offered to teach some beginner's lessons throughout the day.  This will be in the lower meadow and they'll have rods for you to use.  



11:30 am - 3 pm - Kid's Fly Fishing Activities and Lessons - There will be a bug hunt, fly casting, and some fly tying demos for the kids to enjoy!  The group will move throughout the property so kids may join or exit as they desire.  

1 pm - Main Lawn - Learn to Double Haul by Joe Rotter - Get a personal demonstration on HOW and WHY you want to add this benefit to your casting game.

We'll have bows and arrows for kids, but we'll also have a few 3-D animal targets out for the big boys and girls to play with.  Feel free to bring your bow and shoot a few arrows.  There won't be lessons, but this can be fun to watch and do between seminars.
