Red's Rendezvous VI - April 25th

March 14, 2015

Its on.  Many of you have been to this event 5 years running and have been looking forward to this upcoming year. It will have one of the best lineups of casting clinics and seminars in the country hands down.  We'll have kids fly fishing and tying, fun casting demos, food, door prizes, hunting dog demonstrations over live birds, live music if weather permits, a beer garden, and a ton of seminars both indoors and out.

We're still roughing out some of the details, but we do know that we're dedicated to making it worth your time to be here.  There will be a small admission fee that will also get you entered for some worthy door prizes donated by our generous sponsors!

Here is the "rough draft" of some of the seminars at the Red's Rendezvous VI

  • Spey casting with Simon Gawesworth
  • Beginner's Fly Casting Lessons by the Federation of Fly Fishers
  • Small Creek Fishing in Central Washington
  • Eastern Washington Largemouth Bass Fishing
  • Learn to Double Haul Fly Cast
  • Destination Cuba by Jon Covich (Red's will be hosting a trip to Cuba in 2016)
  • All About Fishing Christmas Island
  • Ascension Bay Mexico
  • Kids Fly Casting and Tying
  • Nymph Fishing Strategies of the Pro's
  • More to come!

Spey Casting Seminars ON the River!

World renowned spey caster Simon Gawesworth will lead a variety of on the water two-handed casting seminars including a piece on single hand spey casting.  This is a unique opportunity to learn from one of the best spey instructors on the planet!  The Red's staff will also assist with some supplemental instruction.

Non-Pro 5 Weight Casting Competition

We're going to raise some money for a charity that is yet to be announced and the winner will receive a Sage ACCEL 5 weight fly rod courtesy of Sage!

What a great prize for just showing up and doing some fly casting.  The contest will be fun for all skill levels and there will be some novelty targets that you will all enjoy.  This is super fun to watch and participate in.  Don't be shy about trying your skills on the course, our staff is there to encourage you and help your fly cast.

The Tree of DEATH!
Last year we had "the tree of death" as one of the challenges on the casting course.  You had to hook your fly around the tree and if you lost your fly.... you're done!  This year we'll have even more creative novelties including a moving target!

Kid's Fly Fishing Activities

This is a great day for the family.  There will be kids fly casting and fly tying that circulates throughout the middle of the day.

No Need to RSVP!

You don't need to register or buy tickets in advance, and we'll be e-mailing updates as things progress.  Click here to join our Newsletter if you haven't already done so.

I believe the lodge is booked full, but there is great lodging available in nearby Ellensburg.  Better get it nailed down soon, because I have a feeling this will be a big event!

  1. I'll be at Red's on April 25. Good time last year.
  2. Thanks Lou, we'll see you there. This will be a super fun event with a lot of "hands on" stuff for everyone to do.
  3. I fish 2 or3 times a yeas with you and I vote for the rod being donated to Project Healing Waters the suicide rate for our veterans is 7 times as high as the general population fly fishing can make a real difference in ending that thanks
