Steve Joyce

Steve is one of the original partners at Red's Fly Shop. He was born and raised in Billings, MT. He graduated with a degree in Mathematics from Carroll College where he played football for 4 years. His wife Natalie is from Choteau, MT. Together, they have 3 wonderful children and feel lucky to raise a family in Ellensburg WA. Steve has guided extensively throughout MT, WA, and South America. His fly fishing travels have taken him around the world. He works in the shop and continues to guide fly fishing and bird hunting on a full time basis. Steelhead Conservation Needs Support!

Guys, this is just in from our WDFW officials. They have put a lot of effort towards this and it's near the finish line but needs a push! You know how hard it is to obtain resource funding in todays competitive interests budget. Your effort is appreciated.

Gentlemen,

The Steelhead License Plate bill needs your help. The bill (SB6200) has gone through the process and is held up at the final step. It is currently sitting in the House Rules Committee and the chair has frozen all bills, including SB6200, at this time. This is very concerning as the cut off is this Friday. One option is what is known as a leadership pull. This action can be taken by the chair of the committee and would effectively move the bill to the floor for a vote.

Assuming you are supportive of the bill, we ask you to contact the chairs office and request a Leadership Pull of Senate Bill 6200. If successful, the bill would be moved out of the rules committee. We need this to happen as we anticipate full support on the floor. If it doesnt move out of rules, it will die. Recall the fiscal note projects approximately $500k in revenue that we would use for steelhead research, conservation, and monitoring to minimize hatchery/wild interactions while enhancing mark selective fisheries.

Also, I ask that you reach out to others in your network of influence and request they also contact the chair and voice their support for SB 6200.
