Yakima River Fishing Report

September 26, 2014

Just a quick update here reminding you not to forget just how fishy the Yakima River is in the fall.  The shorter days, cooler nights, and late season hatches are fueling a good bite.  We had a small hiccup yesterday with a spike in river flows but the water is back in great shape this morning.

The long term prediction is for a a warm fall so try and make some plans to get on the water.  The Klickitat River has been tougher the past couple days with the flows coming up but it appears that it will be back in good condition this morning.  If you are fishing today, think about a San Juan Worm. Most anglers only consider this a "spring time pattern" but after a sudden burst of rain in the fall it can be deadly!

The Naches River is in great shape for wading if you are a DIY angler looking to put another trip on your wading boots before the season is over.  Be sure to take some October Caddis Dry Flies with you.  Sorry for the update being so brief this morning, time to hit the river!

PS - We have a few spots open for Isaak's Ranch this Saturday still!  Call (509) 933-2300 to sign up, or email joe@redsflyshop.com  - Our crew is meeting at 8 am at the Safeway in Ephrata to go put a beat down on some big trout.
